Catalogue
The viscoelastic material was originally developed to relieve the pressure exerted by the force of gravity experienced by astronauts during takeoff in the early 1960s at NASA’s Ames Research Center. However, in the 90s, they applied it in the hospital rest sector.
As its name suggests, viscoelastic is a viscous and elastic material that has both properties when deformed. This material produces a memory footprint effect when pressure is exerted and heat is transmitted over it, slowly recovering its original shape (High Resilience).
The viscoelastic material ergonomically adapts to the body, reducing and relieving pressure points across the entire contact surface. The density of viscoelastic mattresses can vary depending on the rigidity and is measured in kg/m3. The higher the density, the greater the rigidity.
